Metasploit Attack

Metasploit Attack is type of cyber attack usually carried out within a networked computer. Open source Metasploit Framework is used to conduct several attacks. Metasploit framework is a software platform for developing, testing, and executing exploits usually towards windows system. The attacker executes a sequence of commands that target a specific vulnerability found in a system or application to allow the attacker to have access to a remote machine. Open source Metasploit Framework can also be used to create security testing tools and exploit modules and also as a penetration testing system.

Metasploit Framework is not used for harming or crashing down a machine, but allow an attacker to get temporary access to a victim’s machine permanently to repeatable access after installing a backdoor. An attacker can perform many actions include access to critical files, copy or deletion of files, installation of spyware and much more. Metasploit exploits also include web application exploits, meterpreters (command execution exploits) and installation of harmful programs.

Metasploit Framework is also used by network administrators for penetration testing to test how vulnerable windows computers are in the Metasploit attack within a networked computer. Good antivirus can protect one from Metasploit framework exploits and user security awareness is also very important.
